About Beyu
Beyu began as a way to provide for my family. Being a single Mom and needing to financially provide for my family, I needed to do something; and making soap was something I knew how to do. I took the risk and began making soap as a way to pay some of my bills.
Being a survivor of numerous forms of abuse, by numerous people, survivors are often left with a lost identity. One they learned from abuse, leaving who they are behind, as survivorship takes over. The effects that abuse creates, leaves victims lost, forgetting who they are. That's where the name, Beyu, comes in.
I believe in being "yourself". Take whatever time you need, do whatever you have to do that's healthy, but fight to be yourself, and not to let abuser's take you from you.
Beyu, is pronounced, "Be You", but spelled, "Beyu". I wanted my company to represent several things, 1. Be who you are designed to be, and forget all that's fake, without fear, while you heal. 2. Stand for what you believe in - and I believe in surviving and fighting for your loved ones and yourself in whatever way that may be for you. 3. Don't neglect your needs. Remember to care for yourself with nutrition and physical care - hygiene - & lastly, emotional care.
I believe there's something calming about using the earth's natural resources. I'm "earthy" and a typically down to earth person, at my core. I started an interest in natural, or botanical care as a teenager, and it's followed me since. During many years of abuse, I stopped. I've since picked this piece back up and have been moving in this direction since. I make my own soap for my body, my kids, and their kids' bath care, as well as our laundry and dishes.
While making soap may not be my "passion", I enjoy doing it and helping others with skin and hair health. I hope it gives others a place to find some sort of healing, however that may be for you; and that would make it all worth it.
If you are a survivor of any kind of abuse, I would love for you to send me your story. You can do it anonymously, if you wish, and an address. I'd like to send you a free gift - no purchase necessary, just a reminder, we're on this journey together, each on our own path. We're Never Alone.
With Love,
The Owner of Beyu
